What's New

Dear Friends,
Thanksgiving is absolutely one of my most favorite holidays. It is a time when I am reminded of how blessed I am to have such wonderful clients in my life. Thank you all for your trust and for the gift of allowing me to help deliver your real estate dreams.
Happy Thanksgiving!
What’s New? “Everybody is worried about something. If you invested in 1969, amidst turmoil in 1969, you would have made 25 times your money. People forget about compounding ”money over time,” - Ron Baron, founder of Baron Capital, with $29.6 billion in assets under management. Here are some more of his insights that sound like they could apply to real estate too:
  • Investors should forget the day-to-day market gyrations and stay focused on the long term.
  • In 1969 the US economy was $850 billion. It’s now $21.3 trillion. That’s up 25 times.
  • Extraordinarily low-interest rates provide even more incentive to invest.
  • Technology is making businesses grow faster compared with the traditional, capital intensive ways of building physical structures in hopes they will pay off over time. It’s making the costs be lower.
  • Knowledge is growing at the fastest pace it’s ever grown. (CNBC)
What’s New? Tesla Solar Roofs are coming! Elon Musk unveiled the electric-car company’s new solar-paneled roof tiles and said he expects to be fitting more than 1,000 roofs per week soon priced around $35,000 on average. Expensive yes, but exceptionally better looking than the traditional solar panels that are often rather hideous! Tesla is working on aesthetics: Colors coming soon will include earth tones, clay tile and French slate as well as the current black. Tesla also makes traditional solar panels. Tesla’s solar roofs are an entirely new roof for the home, an integrated power-generating structure. They are more expensive than panels, though they can be cheaper than the combined cost of panels and a new roof.
What’s New? Sales of new homes probably will rise to a 13-year high in 2020 as the U.S. dodges a recession, according to Lawrence Yun, chief economist of the National Association of Realtors. He estimates new-home sales probably will jump 11% to 750,000, the highest reading since 2007. Sales of existing homes likely will increase 3.7% to 5.56 million in 2020, the highest tally since 2017.
